Meet other investors and have your say on Budget Day

Apologies for the go-slow for the past week or so. I’m caught in a deadline nexus where some come forward, others resolutely refuse to move back, and I’m going away for a fortnight over Easter. But before that is the nation’s annual financial set-piece, Budget Day.
The twelfth of March is billed as a make or break day for the chancellor, Alistair Darling. The economy is, reportedly, following his own brief tenure down the plug-hole. I’ve always felt overwhelmed by the Budget, choosing instead to report the analysis of wiser members of our community.
This year we’re hoping to go one stage further and host a light lunch at Interactive HQ London. We’ll watch the Budget speech together and make an iBall episode out of it. If you’re in the neighbourhood and you’d like to meet other investors and sound off on the economy and tax send me an email at richard.beddard[at]iii.co.uk, replacing [at], with @, of course.
The speech, by the way, is at 12.30 next Wednesday, 12 March. Here’s The Treasury’s Guide to the Budget and its Budget 2008 page to whet your appetites.

Thanks very much for the invite but unfortunately I can’t be in London on Wednesday week so I’ll have to follow the news on the media. Good luck anyway.

Oh well, never mind. Thanks for replying Martin. You can follow it on iii of course!
It does sound very tempting (the food and drink, that is) but unfortunately I’m busy that day screwing the UK taxpayer for all it’s worth.
