New-look blog

Woah! Shock and awe. We’ve woken up to a gleaming new blog. It’s almost as much of a surprise to me as it is to you; the IT department works in mysterious ways. Aside from being prettier now, the blog is on a faster server and a number of technical problems are fixed.

If you notice any gremlins: things not being where you expect, say, or you’re not receiving posts by RSS, anything, please let me know at richard.beddard@iii.co.uk.

Regular blogging will resume when I’ve found my way around.

  • Richard, it looks great, very clean and slick!

  • Thanks Tim, though the kudos goes go another Tim, or as he put when I thanked him “the heroes are the open source community”.

  • Nice, but I find the light blue used for the links a little hard to read. Other than that, clean, clear and modern.

Nice comment of Tim’s: its always good to acknowledge the use of open source.

  • Thanks Graeme, we appear to have lost lists and blocquotes though which is somewhat disturbing. Hoping they’ll come back soon!

  • Hi Richard,

The list of links to blogs like Karsan and Gannon has been removed. It would be really useful to have this reinstated.

  • Hi Matthew. Glad you found it useful, and sorry we lost it! I’ve created a new list now (you have to scroll down quite far to see it) now much expanded – with all the blogs I read regularly.

  • Hi Richard, Any change of a ‘print article’ button, similar to Gannon’s site? Please..

    • Oooohh crikey V4Value, I don’t know. I’ll ask! In the meantime here’s a tip that will give you a printer friendly view for any site. Try Readability: https://www.readability.com/

      It’s terrific.
