Remember me, Don’t remember me!

Since the launch of the new Authentication system. We have received several requests from our users to “remember me” - thus preventing them from having to login every day. At the same time we have received several requests from users “not to remember me” so that not even their username is pre-filled when they visit.
Neither of these requirements are conflicting, and I believe we can leave this decision in the hands of our users. Ultimately, we will still be tied to cookies, and with the increased awareness of spyware protection, and the manual labour involved in configuring some of the more basic types of adware/spyware, some users will still have to login everyday. (This would affect users whose username is currently not prepropulated).
I expect this may be possible to acheieve within the month, however other projects will retain priority, so it may have to be a weekend project.
